Is there any way to lower the exhaust note of a Royal Enfield?

I love the sound of the Royal Enfield. It would destroy the personality of the machine to make it more silent. There are quieter mufflers but they are a lot more restrictive and may cause you to loose some power. One option is to fit a short mechanical baffle into the tail end of the pipe, but the silencer is already very restrictive, fitting this will further reduce performance. If you mean you love bass of the machine but you want to get rid of unwanted noise, other option is to go with glass wool. Glass wool and ceramic wool are types of man made fibers with high thermal insulation and low thermal conductivity. Glass wool is the packing material inside the silencer through which the exhaust gases flow. It absorbs unnecessary noises and is the reason of the bassy sound of the silencer and also thermal insulation. Here is a link for reference Glasswool exhaust
